Making things for children is a responsibility.
These are the principles behind every Nusi brand. They shape what we build, and what we decide not to build.
Six principles
-
Start with the child
Every idea begins with a real age group and a real need. We think about developmental stage, attention span and how a child will feel when the screen goes off, before we think about features.
-
Keep grown-ups in the loop
Parents and educators know their children best. Our products are designed to be used together and to give adults clear, simple control.
-
Collect less, protect more
We ask only for what we genuinely need, explain why in plain language, and keep it safe. Children’s information is never sold and never used to target advertising.
-
Design for every child
We aim for the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard: captions and transcripts on video, readable type, strong contrast, reduced-motion support and full keyboard access.
-
Use AI with care
AI can help adults create learning materials faster. We label it clearly, apply strict safety settings, and make sure a person reviews anything AI-assisted before it reaches a child.
-
Test before we ship
Nusi Labs, our research and development team, prototypes new ideas and tests them with educators and families before they become part of a Nusi brand.
What we will never do
Some decisions are easier to make once, in public.
- Sell personal information, or show targeted advertising to children
- Use endless feeds, streaks or reward loops designed to keep children hooked
- Give children public profiles or let strangers contact them
- Present AI as a teacher, therapist or friend
- Claim a product is “proven” or “expert-approved” without evidence
Questions about how we work?
Parents, educators and researchers: we’re happy to explain any of this in more detail.
